Since so many social and networking events in the oil & gas industry revolve around sporting clays, five brave ladies stepped out of their comfort zones to learn the basics so they can participate the next time the opportunity arises.
It was the most perfect, cool fall morning at American Shooting Centers. Instructor Haley Dunn took us out to the gold course where we could be alone and take our time. Before long, everyone was blasting pigeons out of the sky. If you're looking for a stress buster, shooting sporting clays is it.
After two hours of instruction and shooting, Chef Elizabeth, of A Day from Scratch, was waiting with a fresh fall brunch. We started with pear, walnut, and ricotta crostini with local honey. Next we enjoyed the most flavorful sweet potato, black bean, kale, and quinoa hash. For dessert, a not-too-sweet pear crisp. With mimosas, of course!
Such a fun fall morning with some incredible ladies. Best of all, each person said they would now feel comfortable shooting on their own.
